JAFF 2019: THE MOST HILLARIOUS FILM FESTIVAL I’VE EVER BEEN
Who excites with holiday? I’m absolutely the one. Last year (2019), I just took 2 occasional days off. The first one when I did umroh. The second one was attending JAFF (Jogja-NETPAC Asian Film Festival).
It was my first time going to that festival. As a festival film crusher, I’ve never been to out of town reaching film festival. I didn’t know why, at that moment I spontaneously decided to go there and enjoyed the festival. I asked my boss to take three days off (excluding two days in weekend, so the total 5 days).
I was too excited. Starting from booking th ticket, booking the train, choosing the hostel, and many more. I chose train as the transportation. I just miss being alone in the train, listening the music, reading books, etc. That was kinda rare moment.
Arrived in Jogja, I directly went to my hostel. It was an apartment actually. The price is quite good. I remember around 15 USD for one night. So 1 paid around 1 million rupiahs for my stay. The place is so instagramable. The bed, AC, TV, WiFi, Bedroom, everything was so perfect.
I used Gojek to go everywhere. From my apartment to the venue was about 3 or 5km (I forgot), However, using Gojek, I just paid less than 10.000 rupiahs for one trip. So cheap.
I ate everyhing around the venue. Talked to my old mates who loves cinema as well. Discussed with my filmmaker which are my idol. Never ending watching from afternoon till evening (4 screening at one days). That time was so perfect for me.
It was my first time having “the most festive” film festival. In Jakarta, I went to JiFFest, Europe on Screen, etc, the vibe was not as festive as Jaff. I love everything there. I feel like losing my heart there wkwkwkw (I don’t know how to describe the feeling through writting).
Oh ya, I also enjoy the night when we dance all night long. That was awesome. I wish I could go in JAFF 2020. See you.
